RA Dry Film Dispersion | Chemours™ Coating
Chemours’ PTFE (Teflon)™ – Uniform Fluoropolymer Coating, Easy to Apply & Rapid Room Temperature Cure
Utilization of RA dry film dispersions provides coated surfaces with an ultra-thin, anti-stick and lubricious coating of Chemours’ exclusive PTFE resin. These benefits are often utilized in dry film lubrication and anti-stick mold release agent applications for extremely reactive, constantly moving or critical parts. As a result, the coated surface benefits by having a surface that exhibits a low coefficient of friction, anti-fouling, chemically resistance, and dry lubrication. These characteristics of the RA dry film dispersions are also utilized when used as an additive in coatings and other lubrication formulations. The RA dry film dispersion is also 100% non-flammable and VOC exempt which contrasts from other solvent-borne PTFE dispersion currently available.
- Exclusive Chemours PTFE Dispersion (< 3 µm particle size)
- Ultra-low coefficient of friction providing unmatched lubricity and anti-stick properties
- Combats fouling and minimizes build-up
- Compatible with all substrates and does not swell/degrade elastomers
- Extremely effective as a dry lubricant, mold release, and additive
- 100% chemically inert, VOC-exempt, and non-flammable formulation
Chemours’ RA Dry Film Dispersion offers a non-flammable alternative to the flammable RA/IPA formulation. It can be applied in multiple different fashions including dipping, wiping, brushing, air-spraying, airless spraying, aerosol spray, and drying. The most effective application method is heat curing or melt-coating. By fusing the melted deposited solids to the application site, the coating exhibits improved adhesion which not only improves its lubricous properties listed above but also enhances its durability. Once the coating is applied the industry served and usages are quite expansive.
RA Dry Film Dispersion as a Dry Lubricant:
Due to its low coefficient of friction characteristic RA Dry Film Dispersion, it also acts as an excellent dry lubricant. Many of the applications it is utilized in are ones in which continuous smooth movement is imperative for the performance of the tool or application site. Utilizing RA in these applications provides abrasion resistance which lowers the depreciation rate of the product it is applied to. Some parts that RA Dry Film Dispersion is applied to are:
- drive belts and chain drives
- gears, bearings, and gaskets
- twine, rope, cords, threads, and cables
- nuts and bolts
- connectors, locks, saw blades, and machine mechanisms
- magnetic recording tapes, camera shutters, and film
- door hinges, window and furniture guides, zipper
RA Dry Film Dispersion as a Release Agent:
The extreme stability, anti-stick and lubricious nature of RA Dry Film Dispersion makes it a great candidate to be used as a release agent. It provides a robust release semi-permanent coating even for very reactive compounds such as epoxy resins and polyurethane foam. Some applications include
- conveyor belts
- molded rubber and plastics
- laminated wood, plastic laminates, paper, pressure-sensitive labels
- tanks and bins
- resin releasing
- tanks and bins
RA Dry Film Dispersion as an Additive:
RA Dry Film Dispersion can be added to promote thickening, lubricity, prevent fouling. Some industries this is widely used in are:
- paper, inks, and elastomers
- electrical brushes
- abrasives and grinding wheel compositions
- waxes
- sporting equipment
- bonded solid-film lubricants
