ShieldSys™ 197S is a high performance, solvent-borne industrial coating designed to bind tenaciously to metallic surfaces, offering unmatched durability and surface protection. Utilization of a proprietary solvent carrier system provides the coating with excellent self-leveling properties while also reducing over-spray, odor and VOC. Utilizing thin-film polymer technology and anti-corrosion additives, this coating effectively seals most metallic and non-metallic surfaces preventing surface oxidation and damage.  The novel chemistry of this coating allows for exceptional thermal stability and resistance to deterioration from repeated heat cycling.  Benefits include:

ShieldSys™ 197S is a high performance, solvent-borne industrial coating designed to bind tenaciously to metallic surfaces, offering unmatched durability and surface protection. Utilization of a proprietary solvent carrier system provides the coating with excellent self-leveling properties while also reducing over-spray, odor and VOC.  The low-surface energy of the coating provides excellent utility in minimizing surface build-up and contamination. Utilizing thin-film polymer technology and anti-corrosion additives, this coating effectively seals most metallic surfaces preventing surface oxidation and damage.  The novel chemistry of this coating allows for exceptional thermal stability and resistance to deterioration from repeated heat cycling.  Benefits include:

Advanced Chemistry for Numerous Industrial Surface Sealer Applications

ShieldSys™ 197S can not overcoated with other coatings because of its extremely low-surface energy and tightly crosslinked surface.  Therefore ShieldSys™ 197S is intended as a protective top-coat.  It can also be used to seal freshly prepared metal surfaces.  Our surface sealer will protect the metal from corrosion, oxidation, marring, and chipping.  The fully cured film is highly inert and resistant to stains from oils, greases, chemicals, and industrial soot. ShieldSys 197S can be used to seal fresh concrete surface or other porous materials, providing waterproofing and stain-resistance.

Intended originally as a high-performance surface sealer, ShieldSys™ 197S has found numerous application as a protective coating for extruders, metal cable and wire, and on rubber gaskets and sleeves used in vulcanized rubber operations.
