ShieldSys™ ES1 Epoxy Stripper is an industrial strength, powerful cleaner and stripper solvent designed for removal of today’s most advanced chemical resistant coatings. Formulated to be our most potent paint and epoxy stripper, ShieldSys ES1 rapidly softens and removes all epoxies, urethanes, enamels and silicone coatings. 100% Methylene chloride free, ShieldSys™ ES1 works quickly, typically taking less than 1 hour for complete removal.  For the toughest epoxies or chemical resistant coatings, soaking for up to 12-16 hours may be necessary. ShieldSys ES1 Epoxy Stripper can be used on ferrous metals, non ferrous metals, silicone, plastics at room temperature. ES1 can can be filtered and reused, providing excellent value and long term cleaning performance.

Directions for Use

• ShieldSys™ ES1 is formulated for an immersion or dip applications. Stripping times may vary from project-to-project depending on the type and thickness of the coating along with other environmental factors. After stripping, the substrate should be rinsed with water to neutralize the ShieldSys™ ES1 Epoxy Stripper chemical.

NOTE: Typical stripping times should be less than 1 hour of immersion. Heat cured epoxies, thicker coatings, or chemical resistance coatings may take up to 12-16 hours to completely soften.

• Always use product at room temperature. Optimum usage is between 60° and 75°F. Do not heat the stripper as it does not improve performance and only increases the rate of evaporation.
• At times it is necessary to strain excess coating residue from ShieldsSys™ ES1. This improves the effectiveness of the chemical and lengthens its life expectancy.

Material Compatibility:

ShieldSys™ ES1 Epoxy Stripper can be used on all types of metals and silicon. However, softer metals such as aluminum or magnesium should not remain in the stripper for excessive amounts of time as this may cause pitting and etching of the surface. Dip Tanks made of Stainless Steel or HDPE are ideal.
