ShieldSys™ 346 is a high-performance water-based, industrial coating designed to provide wires & cables with a highly lubricious, protective coating. This coating generates a robust thin-film which allows for ease wire jacket pulling / removal, high slip, enhance release properties, and excellent corrosion resistance. This coating is safe to use with all electrical and datacomm applications, and other cable types. Recommended Application Procedure:
- Dipping and Flooding – The easiest and most widely used method. A wiper system should be used to strip off excess amounts, ensuring a thin, even coating over the entire length of substrate.
- Spraying – Particularly effective in depositing a very thin coating with excellent adhesion. This system can be used with an automated or hand spray gun.
- Wiping or Brushing – Very effective for coating small amounts of selected areas on a wire or cable.
