ShieldSys™ 346 is a high-performance water-based, industrial coating designed to provide wires & cables with a highly lubricious, protective coating. This coating generates a robust thin-film which allows for ease wire jacket pulling / removal, high slip, enhance release properties, and excellent corrosion resistance. This coating is safe to use with all electrical and datacomm applications, and other cable types. ShieldSys™ 346 Wire and Cable Lubricant is a high-performance water-based, industrial coating designed to provide wires & cables with a highly lubricious, protective coating. This coating generates a robust thin-film which allows for ease wire jacket pulling / removal, high slip, enhance release properties, and excellent corrosion resistance. This coating is safe to use with all electrical and datacomm applications, and other cable types. When applied to hard surfaces it exhibits outstanding anti-stick properties and very low coefficient of friction. Recommended Application Procedure:

  • Dipping and Flooding – The easiest and most widely used method. A wiper system should be used to strip off excess amounts, ensuring a thin, even coating over the entire length of substrate.
  • Spraying – Particularly effective in depositing a very thin coating with excellent adhesion. This system can be used with an automated or hand spray gun.
  • Wiping or Brushing – Very effective for coating small amounts of selected areas on a wire or cable.
