TriboSys 3204 | Grade 0 Mechanical Keyboard Switch Lubricant
Ideal for Tactile Switches on Mechanical Keyboards
TriboSys 3204 is a great general-purpose grade 0 lubricant that is highly utilized in the mechanical keyboard industry. Its oil viscosity and semi-fluid properties make it easy to use and ideal for tactile or “clicky” switches but it is also recommended for linear, Topre, and other Cherry compatible switches. It is recommended for a number of switches, including linear ones, over Krytox™ GPL 205 grade 0 as more individuals choose TriboSys 3204 for its lower viscosity and near-identical ease of application. It is a fluorinated lubricant that is extremely stable, durable, and non-migrating semi-fluid grease. These properties together make it an ideal choice when modifying mechanical keyboard switches. The end-user will experience smooth, “broken in,” action while being assured that the product will not move from the spot of lubrication. This and the insulating properties of fluorinated lubricants protect the printed circuit board and other components. The “broken-in” feeling comes from the molding imperfections being normalized by lowering the surface energy resulting in the elimination of unfavorable tactile and acoustic properties that are often associated with new mechanical keyboards. Some examples of the negative acoustic and tactile properties that are eliminated or reduced are scratching sounds and spring jitter or movement.
