Silicone Industrial Coating | ShieldSys™ 1400
Exceptional Abrasion and Mar Resistance, High Slip & Release Properties, Unmatched Durability
ShieldSys™ 1400 is a high-performance, thin-film industrial coating designed to exhibit superior adhesion and durability on all metallic surfaces. The cured coating provides exceptional abrasion and mar resistance, high slip, and high temperature stability (>500° F). ShieldSys™ 1400 adheres strongly to highly polished and plated surfaces providing enhance release and lubricity, while not affecting the desired surface finish. When applied to a substrate, it exhibits outstanding anti-stick properties and has a very low coefficient of friction. ShieldSys™ 1400 develops a long lasting thin-film that is non-oily and non-migrating. Utilization of advanced chemistry this silicone industrial coating provides numerous benefits to a wide variety of industrial applications. Benefits include:
- Superior Durability and High Temperature Stability
- High lubricity: Thin-Film Coating
- Non-stick; Low Coefficient of Friction
- High Abrasion and Mar resistance
- Exhibits excellent release properties
- Rapid dry and cure times
ShieldSys™ 1400 Silicone Industrial coating is highly durable coating and can be used on numerous industrial application such as extruder heads to aid with material release and ease of process. Our coating will last considerably longer than other coatings because its low coefficient of friction, high temperature stability, and enhanced adhesion to surfaces. Due to its thin-film technology and cross-linking chemistry it provides a extremely robust vapor and moisture barrier allows liquids and solids to quickly wick off the surface – excellent hydrophobicity. Stain and Mar resistance is high value benefit observed with this silicone industrial coating
Advanced Chemistry – Hydrophobic and Abrasion Resistance Coating
ShieldSys™ 1400 is formulated to provide unmatched utility in numerous industrial applications which require a highly durability, high slip, and high-temperature stable thin-film coating. Hostile environments, such as intense UV radiation, temperature fluctuations and acid rain, mar the appearance of coatings. ShieldSys 1400 modified coatings are many times more durable than most coatings that contain pure organic binders and are more weather resistant. They are less sensitive to environmental factors, retain their value and have a much longer lifetime.
ShieldSys™ products combine high performance and functionality. They protect and preserve value. By combining both an organic and inorganic backbone, they can offer exceptional properties:
- Protection against extreme heat and rapid temperature changes
- Excellent resistance to sun, wind and weather
- A versatile array of mechanical possibilities and functionality
ShieldSys 1400 Silicone Industrial Coating Recommended Application Procedure:
- The surface to be coated must be clean, dry and at room temperature.
- Mix together a small amount of ShieldSys™ 1400A and ShieldSys™ 1400B in a 1:1 ratio.
- Wipe or spray a very thin coat and wait 15 minutes. Apply a second coat in the same manner and wait 15 minutes.
- Once fully dry, lightly buff the surface.
- Heat coated item to 100°C for a minimum of 15 minutes to fully cure the coating before use.
